[The Token Manifesto] The Current Digital Renaissance

Punto Blu held an NFT (Non-Fungible-Token) art exhibition, “The Token Manifesto,” with NUMOMO, the world’s first creative NFT agency, from May 7 to May 15, 2021. The exhibition highlighted NUMOMO’s million-dollar NFT Art collection, including pieces from Korea’s most complete Beeple collection, as well as workshops for artists and potential collectors. 

The NFT is a way for artists and collectors to engage with artwork in the current digital renaissance. NFTs can provide proof of ownership via blockchain technology, enabling artists to authenticate their works properly and make active sales as it also automatically collects commissions from secondary sales. After a record-setting $69 million sale of Beeple’s artwork at Christie’s on March 11, NFT artworks are drawing the world’s attention as Beeple’s EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS is the third-highest sale for a living artists’ artwork after Jeff Koons and David Hockney.

The exhibition presented a variety of artists and types of artwork related to NFTs. It included both digital and physical artworks, ranging from the works of the most complete collection of Beeple to renowned digital artist Refik Anadol.

NUMOMO conducted two NFT Art workshops throughout the duration of the exhibition, one for collectors and one for artists. The collector workshop titled “NFTs for Collectors” took place on Saturday, May 08, at 8pm. The artist workshop titled “NFTs for Artists” happened on Saturday, May 15, at 8pm. Through these events, NUMOMO and Punto Blu opened up a conversation about the NFT movement.
